MIDSUMMER "Feel the Heat" EDITION

In the middle of January, most of us were wishing and looking forward to the warmth of summer. Well, we all got what we wished for with a few extra degrees for good measure. For those of you who love the heat, more power to you. For the rest, especially those of us without air-conditioning at home, all we ask for is a good night's rest.

Whatever our preferences, it is hoped that all members are having a great summer with friends and family. 
 
 

 
It's hard to imagine that another year has passed, and my term as President has come to an end. It was my pleasure and privilege to have served our West Island Members and our Association. We had a very exciting and challenging year, and I hope to have met all of your expectations. The following is a summary of achievements during the 2001 - 2002 Session.

• We introduced for the first time ever, two afternoon meetings, both of which were successful. We plan to keep this format for the upcoming session.
  
  
• We focused our efforts on bringing value to our district through the recruitment of top business executives as guest speakers as evidenced in our March general meeting.
  
  
• We focused on promoting membership in an effort to grow our district and enhance visibility.
  
  
• The PMAC West Island web site was launched and I hope you found it useful and easy to use. All the information pertaining to our district is now available on line, and I encourage everyone to use it and to continue to provide us with your comments and suggestions. The site can be found at :

• We assisted in promoting and offering several educational seminars and will continue to seek and recommend seminars that will provide value to our members.
  
  
• We also offered you a great indoor golf event in February that was rated among the best events offered to date.
   
  

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the executive directors and volunteers who supported me during my term. I also extend my sincere thanks to all the members who participated in our activities and who provided ongoing support to the district and myself. Have a great summer, and look forward to see you all in the fall.

The first General Meeting for the 2002-2003 Session of the PMAC West Island District will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2002 at the Dorval Hilton Hotel. Cocktails will be at 5:30pm and Dinner at 6:00pm. Please make a note of this date and plan to attend.
